
Guizhou Jinsha Jiaojiu Winery Co., Ltd. is located in the upstream core production area of the Chishui River Basin's sauce-aroma baijiu cluster in Jinsha County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province.
The history of Jinsha brewing is long and its cultural heritage is profound. According to the "Continued Annals of Qianxi Prefecture," the baijiu produced in Jinsha during the Daoguang era was praised in the poem "Village wine keeps guests, no need to buy on credit." In the 1930s, Maotai Town brewer Liu Kaiting introduced the Maotai Daqu sauce-aroma process, brewing Jinsha's fine wine.
In 2007, the state-owned Guizhou Jinsha Jiaojiu Winery was restructured into Guizhou Jinsha Jiaojiu Winery Co., Ltd. In January 2023, China Resources Wine became the controlling shareholder of Guizhou Jinsha Jiaojiu Winery Co., Ltd. The company currently has more than 3,500 employees, fixed assets of RMB4.5 billion, an annual base liquor production of 24,000 tons, and a storage capacity of 70,000 tons. In 2024, the dual-brand value of Guizhou Zhaiyao and Jinsha Huisha reached RMB245.953 billion. The sales market covers 31 provinces and municipalities including Guizhou, Shandong, Henan, Beijing, Guangdong, Guangxi, Jiangsu, Hunan, Hubei, and Anhui.
The company has two major brands: one is Zhaiyao, with the upstream strategic slogan "Strive for the top, drink Zhaiyao"; the other is Jinsha Huisha, positioned as the "pioneer of mellow sauce-aroma." The company's products mainly include the Guizhou Zhaiyao series, Jinsha Huisha series, light bottle series, cultural and creative series, and e-commerce series. They are made from high-quality red glutinous sorghum from Jinsha, with wheat for Qu making, following the traditional process of making Qu on the Dragon Boat Festival and starting fermentation on the Double Ninth Festival, with two feedings, nine distillations, eight fermentations, and seven extractions. It has a unique mellow sauce-aroma flavour characterized by "slightly yellow and transparent, elegant sauce aroma, mellow and pleasant, full-bodied, long aftertaste, and lingering aroma in the empty cup."
The company is a time-honoured famous liquor producer in Guizhou. It won the title of Guizhou's Eight Famous Liquors at the first session in 1963. In 2011, it passed the pure grain solid-state fermentation baijiu certification and has successively won honours such as Guizhou's Top Ten Famous Liquors, the Gold Medal at the first China Food Expo, the Gold Medal at the Wine Culture Festival, China's Eight Major Sauce-aroma Baijiu Brands, China's Top Ten Trustworthy Quality Baijiu Brands, the China Baijiu Quality Sensory Award, the Grand Gold Medal at the Brussels International Spirits Competition, National Geographical Indication certification, Guizhou Time-honoured Brand, and China Time-honoured Brand.
The company has developed into a key supported baijiu production enterprise in Guizhou Province. By the end of the "15th Five-Year Plan," Jinsha Liquor aims to achieve an annual base liquor production capacity of 50,000 tons and a storage scale of 200,000 tons. In 2021, the company's 10,000-ton sauce-aroma baijiu expansion project was selected into Guizhou Province's 2021 "Thousand Enterprises Transformation" project as a provincial-level leading and high-growth enterprise.
